Julio Interiano
AWS Cloud Practitioner
From the bar to the cloud.
I spent years running the bar program at a luxury hotel — a job where every night is live production, the details decide everything, and nothing ships late. In February 2026 I bet on myself and went all in on cloud engineering.
Since then: AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, two serverless systems designed and deployed on AWS, and every step of the journey documented in public. I learn by building, debug by reading, and write everything down — the same discipline that ran a bar now runs my infrastructure.
Next milestone: the Solutions Architect Associate exam in July. After that — a team to build with.
Projects
Zero-To-Hero — Serverless Habit Tracker
A full CRUD application built from scratch: three Python Lambda functions behind API Gateway, DynamoDB with composite keys for per-user queries, and a frontend served globally through CloudFront with Origin Access Control. Designed, built, debugged, and deployed end to end.
A Bot That Job-Hunts For Me
While I study, this event-driven pipeline works. Every morning it scans the job market, remembers what it's already seen, and emails me only the new postings — no duplicates, no noise, no servers. EventBridge wakes a Lambda, DynamoDB's 3-day TTL handles the memory, SES delivers the goods.
AWS Certified
Cloud Practitioner — May 2026. Solutions Architect Associate exam scheduled July 2026.
Currently shipping
Cloud Resume Challenge: tests, infrastructure as code, and a CI/CD pipeline with GitHub Actions — turning the prototype into a production-grade deployment.
Next up
Zero-To-Hero V2 — Cognito authentication, SNS notifications, Terraform, and a three-tier architecture. Locked in for post-certification.
Zero to Cloud Engineer in 180 days.
Day 1 — All in
Left a luxury hotel career to chase the cloud full-time. Linux, networking fundamentals, and a self-built EC2 lab from day one.
AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner — passed 🎉
First boss defeated, ahead of schedule. Three months earlier I couldn't tell you what a VPC was. The momentum from this one carried everything after it.
First project live — Zero-To-Hero Habit Tracker
Embarrassingly simple. Gloriously deployed. A full CRUD app on Lambda, DynamoDB, and CloudFront that I built, broke, debugged, and shipped myself — and it's still running. Everyone has a first project; this one's mine.
The 9 AM Bot — my first real system
Every morning at 9:00 sharp, it clocks in without me: scans the job market, remembers everything it's already seen, and emails me only what's new. Serverless, self-running, and it has never once asked for a day off.
Solutions Architect Associate exam
Deep in exam prep — architecture patterns, security, and cost optimization across the full AWS service catalog.
Day 180 — Sky is the limit
The 180-day sprint ends where the real climb begins. More builds, more systems, more story to tell — this timeline keeps growing.
Let's talk cloud.
I'm seeking a cloud engineering role where I can keep building. If you're hiring, or you'd like to talk AWS architecture — say hello.
